MetaMask Login is different from logging into a normal website because MetaMask is a non-custodial crypto wallet. There is no username or online account. Access to your wallet is controlled locally using your password and your Secret Recovery Phrase.

How to Log In to MetaMask

1. Open MetaMask

  • Browser: Click the MetaMask extension in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Brave
  • Mobile: Open the MetaMask app on iOS or Android

2. Enter Your Password

  • If your wallet is already set up, simply enter the password you created during setup.
  • This unlocks your wallet locally on your device.

3. Access Your Wallet

Once unlocked, you can:

  • View balances and transaction history
  • Send, receive, or swap crypto
  • Connect to Web3 apps and dApps

If You Forgot Your MetaMask Password

MetaMask cannot recover your password for you. Instead:

  1. Select “Import wallet” or “Restore wallet”
  2. Enter your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase
  3. Create a new password
⚠️ Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet if you lose access.

Connecting MetaMask to Websites

After logging in:

  • Click “Connect Wallet” on a dApp or Web3 site
  • Approve the connection inside MetaMask
  • Confirm transactions carefully before approving

Important Security Tips

  • MetaMask will never ask for your recovery phrase online
  • Only download MetaMask from https://metamask.io or official app stores
  • Double-check websites before connecting your wallet
  • Consider using MetaMask with a hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor) for extra security
